Responsibility

Atex Workwear is committed to responsible operations in all areas – from financial responsibility to the environment and social responsibility. We are pioneers in the design and production of work clothes, and we take the environmental impact and our social responsibility seriously.

Environmental responsibility

We recognize the environmental impacts of our operations and actively strive to reduce them. Since 2023, we have focused on improving energy efficiency at our production facilities and optimizing logistics to reduce our carbon footprint. We are partly self-sufficient in the use of electricity: we get part of the electricity we use from the 100 solar panels installed on the roof of the logistics center in Porvoo.

We have prepared an environmental report and carbon footprint calculation for 2023, as well as an environmental plan for 2024-2029. We are participating in the WeCircle-project to promote circular economy.

We regularly monitor the realization of our environmental goals to ensure that we are progressing towards sustainable development goals and a carbon-neutral textile industry.

Social responsibility

Transparency, honesty, and fairness with both employees and customers are important to us. Equality is an important value in maintaining a good working environment. Our staff consists of competent people, and we do not discriminate/favor anyone based on gender, social background, age, sexual orientation or nationality.

We are committed to ethical procurement and ensuring that our factories and their working conditions comply with international standards. 50% of Atex's products are manufactured in Europe at our own factories in Lithuania and Estonia and as subcontracts with long-term partners. The remaining 50% is manufactured in Asia. The factories comply with the basic conventions of the ILO and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

As a domestic company, we comply with the legislation on social responsibility. We do our best to promote the sustainable growth of our company by creating new jobs and supporting associations that match our values. We actively cooperate with various educational institutions and offer internships and summer jobs to 3-5 young people every year. In addition, we actively support local sports club activities and donate annually to charity.

Financial responsibility

We commit to sustainable management and ensure the profitability of our operations in the long term. We constantly strive to improve the efficiency of our business, while at the same time investing in the well-being of employees and environmentally friendly solutions, such as offering employees the opportunity for an employee bicycle.

Along with our financial goals, we invest in responsible procurement, reliability and transparency in all our operations.
